Research interests

Synthesis of nucleotides and their analogs important biologically and therapeutically. Synthesis of oligophosphates bearing various modifications (phosphorothioate, phosphoroselenoate, boranophosphate, bisphosphonate, imidodiphosphate, dichloro- and difluorobisphosphaonates). Synthesis of 5' mRNA end analogs (cap analogs) and their applications in the process of gene expression (initiation of translation, mRNA degradation). Therapeutic applications of modified nucleotides and RNA. Synthesis of labeled nucleotides (e.g. fluorescently, isotopically, biotinylated) and their use in the studies of biological processes and role of macromolecules in cell.
